Claus Proschka

Dr. Claus Proschka had worked as a management consultant for five years before he became involved with the real estate sector as a director of marketing at a major German property lending institution in 1994. Initially focused on the German market, Claus took on the responsibility for developing the U.S. business for this institution in 1999 and built and headed its U.S. operation in New York City which provided the financing for larger single asset and portfolio investment transactions for German and U.S. clients.

After returning to Germany, Claus designed and established an international real estate lending department for a financial institution which had not been active in that business outside of Germany before. For a major German real estate bank he then co-headed the international property lending divison and oversaw the risk management and the servicing of a multi-billion Euro loan portfolio until in 2007 he moved to one of the leading Irish banks and built a pan-European real estate operation for this institution in Frankfurt.

Since 2009 Claus runs his own independent real estate investment advisory business focusing on foreign investors and lenders and their German assets. He also continues to be involved in advisory work for German and U.S. clients with respect to assets in the U.S.

Claus holds a law degree from the University of Constance and is a licensed lawyer in Germany.

Claus is a former lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and a frequent speaker and panelist at real estate or finance related conventions.
